Actually, I really like this person so far. Between Sunspot and me this person hasn't (so far that I can tell) just thrown out nasty comments.
They are willing to discuss and reason. And the conversation has been going good.

i have tried google and my own personal files...and i just can't find the printed thought that said "a jw must agree with all the teachings of the wts"....or words to that effect..... i am developing some thoughts to "share" over on the "knocking" forum.
(i asked in one post---if "knocking" referred to jws at the doors, or what they do to all other religions...... i'd appreciate any help with this....even with other excerpts that relate to this thought---would be great!.

We now come to the matter of being loyal to Jehovah’s visible organization. Certainly, we owe loyalty to it, including "the faithful and discreet slave," through which the Christian congregation is fed spiritually. (Matthew 24:45-47) Suppose that something appears in Watch Tower publications that we do not understand or agree with at the moment. What will we do? Take offense and leave the organization? That is what some did when TheWatchTower, many years ago, applied the new covenant to the Millennium. Others took offense at what TheWatchtower once said on the issue of neutrality. If those who stumbled over these matters had been loyal to the organization and to their brothers, they would have waited on Jehovah to clarify these matters, which he did in his due time. Thus, loyalty includes waiting patiently until further understanding is published by the faithful and discreet slave.
I.e. if a person's conscience tells them that something the JW's is doing is not quite right, they need to put their loyalty to the Organization ABOVE their conscience.

As in the first century, a small group of qualified men from among the anointed overseers now serve as the Governing Body, representing the composite faithful and discreet slave. Our Leader uses this Governing Body to appoint qualified men—whether spirit-anointed or not—as elders in the local congregations. In this regard, the holy spirit, which Jehovah has given Jesus authority to employ, plays a pivotal role. (Acts 2:32, 33) First of all, these overseers must meet the requirements set out in God’s Word, which was inspired by holy spirit. Not keeping pace with Christ could mean one of two things. Either we try to go faster, running ahead of "the faithful and discreet slave" that Jesus is using to accomplish Jehovah’s purpose, or we lag behind in following that ‘slave’s’ direction. (Matthew 24:45-47) As an example of the first, some Christians have in times past become impatient about doctrinal or organizational changes or refinements that they felt were necessary and overdue. Becoming disgruntled because they felt things were not moving quickly enough, they withdrew from Jehovah’s people. How foolish and how shortsighted! Often the very thing that upset them was later changed—in Jehovah’s due time.—Proverbs 19:2; Ecclesiastes 7:8, 9.Hope this is helpful.

and i say thank god that this abhorrent practice is not legal any longer.. i don't feel rowe vs. wade (the right of a women to an abortion) should be banned, but definitely partial birth abortions should be.. am i for willy nilly abortion?
but if there were ever a situation say a woman's health was in jeapordy i feel she should have the right to a legal ending of her pregnancy.. for those that choose abortion as a means of birth control or some other lame reason, i believe that is wrong.. how do you feel?.

Ok, Juni, I agree to disagree with you and the others on this.
I am looking at things from a very different viewpoint and I am not going to further attempt to try to change your minds on this, as I don't completely disagree with any of you.
I will not say I like the procedure or that I would even choose to have it done myself.
Juni like you said, how you would react in a given situation is you as the way I would react is mine.
My viewpoints on abortion itself would come across to a pro choicer as selfish even.
I just maintain, that my body is my own. And my concern lies with govt telling me what I can do with it for my own health.
Bowing out as I'm not one to engage in debate, absorbs too much time and there is a wealth of information out there for people to read and make a decision. You've guys have made your own decisons based on facts you have collected and a point of reason, we just disagree as we see things from different perspectives. And so be it.

Women do have another choice. Having a caesarean section to deliver the baby.
I believe it is immoral to partially birth a baby and then proceed to end his/her life.
Juni, I can really understand that viewpoint.
But I think the key thing to remember here is this:
I'm not a dr. As far as I remember with your posting's you are not a doctor.
There are at times, and have been in the past, medical reasons to procede with that procedure.
If it is YOUR womb at stake, if it is your life at stake, and the doctors would determine this is the best route to take, you would make that decision.
But how the heck does the government have the right to make that decision?
When you start allowing the govts to intervene in these areas, you start sliding down a slippery slope. Things are not so black and white as much as we want them to be.
My concern lies with our rights as women. Be we Christian, Pagan, Islam, Jewish or atheist. It dosen't matter. We should have the right to exercise our own conscience. If I believe a woman is murdering her unborn child, fine. Then I would hope my faith in that higher power in either bringing her to a higher understanding of life would be strong enough not to take away the choice from all woman.
